How to design a new model for GEG, an energy provider, in the era of market liberalization?
POSITIVE ENERGY PROVIDER
GEG is a producer and distributor of electricity and gas. Until recently, the group held a monopoly in its territory, the Grenoble metropolitan area, with regulated tariff offerings. Since then, the context has changed with the opening of the market and the emergence of competitors offering low-cost, market-driven, and service-oriented solutions. How should GEG respond with an adapted pricing strategy and positioning in the face of price wars, without altering the core values and business model of a well-established organization?

Consulting, marketing, communication, we supported GEG for 2 years in the creation and positioning of a new offer. The creation of a new brand aimed to protect GEG's core values while promoting a new offering based on two key ideas. The first is that GEG, as the owner of hydroelectric power plants, is a producer of green energy. The second idea focuses on the individual’s connection to sustainable development and ecology. While a majority of French people would naturally prefer an energy transition offer, not everyone can afford it. We proposed and created a tailored, inclusive ecological offer, allowing everyone to participate in the energy transition according to their means, with a step-by-step offer system: 25% / 50% / 75% / 100% green energy.
