Arnaud Saint Jean has joined the communication agency Hula Hoop as Consulting Director and Head of the Public Interest Division. This division brings together all the public and semi-public entities the Lyon-based agency collaborates with. The forty-something’s mission is to provide communication consulting to local authorities, oversee projects, and respond to public sector tenders. Hula Hoop currently works with the Métropole de Lyon, OnlyLyon, the Paris Tourist Office, Isère Attractivité, and the Occitanie Regional Tourism and Leisure Committee (CRTL).
For the past year, he had been working as an independent consultant but missed the collaborative environment. A journalist by training, he began his career in Cairo in 2005. Passionate about the Middle East, he worked as a freelancer for Europe 1, Le Parisien, BFM TV, and Marianne until 2009. He then moved to Paris, where he did some journalism but quickly shifted to communication.
« I enjoyed journalism much less in Paris. In communication, there are different challenges with different clients, » explains Arnaud Saint Jean.
In 2010, he joined the Parisian agency WordAppeal as a project manager, where he reviewed press releases, coordinated writers, and responded to calls for tenders. Originally from northern Isère, Arnaud Saint Jean decided to move to Lyon in 2015. He then joined the agency Ultramedia as Editorial Director and later advanced to the position of Consulting Director. For several years, he was also a partner within the agency.
